Dr. Adrienne Booth Johnson
Dr. Adrienne Booth Johnson founded Wo Ye Bra in Greater Accra, Ghana, in 2017 to create economic opportunities for women while helping girls stay in school during their menstrual cycles. Drawing on her 25-year career as a Coca-Cola marketing executive and her own experience as a young single mother, she built the program around skills, entrepreneurship, and economic independence. Wo Ye Bra equips women with sewing training, equipment, materials, business education, and resources to turn their skills into sustainable livelihoods. To date, the program has helped more than 300 women in Ghana and Sierra Leone build pathways to entrepreneurship and greater financial independence.
Ellen Adu Baah
Ellen Adu Baah serves as Vice President of Operations for Wo Ye Bra in Ghana, where she has played a key role in bringing the program to life on the ground since 2017. She oversees participant recruitment, community partnerships, training locations, transportation, equipment sourcing, and other critical program logistics. A successful entrepreneur herself, Ellen brings extensive business experience, deep community relationships, and fluency in five Ghanaian languages to her work. Based in Tema, she is also a passionate community advocate who believes that opportunity and kindness should always be passed forward.
Jayla Johnson
Jayla Johnson serves as Vice President of Development for Wo Ye Bra, helping shape the organization’s strategy for growth, partnerships, fundraising, and long-term sustainability. She brings more than a decade of experience spanning corporate America, philanthropy, higher education, government, and the nonprofit sector, with a career centered on building programs and partnerships that expand opportunity. At Wo Ye Bra, Jayla works to connect the organization’s work in Ghana with funders, partners, and new markets while strengthening the infrastructure needed to grow its impact. She is especially passionate about creating pathways for women to turn skills into income, ownership, and lasting economic opportunity.
